Tonya Millis

Tonya Millis is no stranger to Hampstead and the Just for Kicks dance family! She was here as the studio was beginning and has returned to Just for Kicks as a tap, jazz, ballet and preschool instructor. Tonya has many years of performance and teaching experience. She began dancing at 5 years old and competing at age 12. During her performance career, Tonya won many awards regionally and nationally, including the Universal Associate Dance All Star Award for a Jazz Solo. She was also the Captain and member of the Hoggard Dance Team, the Vikettes. Tonya began her teaching career as an Assistant Teacher at Techniques in Motion Dance Studio in Wilmington, NC, where she was also a member of their Dance Company. She made a move across town and joined the dance company and teaching team at 5,6,7,8 Dance. Tonya has also been a member of dance productions including; a Benefit for the Virginia Tech Memorial Fund and a benefit for the Domestic Violence Shelter and a dancer in the film, Bolden. Tonya graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Spanish. She also worked for 7 years at PPD here in Wilmington. She is married to Chris Millis and they have three precious children, Luke and Alexa and Olivia.
