Marla Roberson found a love of dance early on in life and even began choreographing routines on the playground in elementary school.  She is excited to instruct dancers in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Lyrical.  Ms. Marla has many years of dance experience underneath her dance shoes.  She studied dance at Angela's School of Dance in Loris, SC, and Jodi's School of Dance in Whiteville, NC.  She also has over 10 years experience teaching dance to children.  She taught for 6 years under the direction of Robbi Richardson at 5,6,7,8 Dance in Wilmington, NC and then for 2 years at Happy Feet Dance in San Pedro, CA before joining the Polera family here in Hampstead.  Ms. Marla has performed at many dance competitions and helped her team win high honors.  In addition, she has also led many dance teams to win high awards at dance competitions. She has also performed in theatrical productions and on stage at Disney World.  Ms. Marla graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Sociology Degree and an Elementary Teaching Licence.  She has worked with kids of all ages at local elementary schools before pursuing the career as full-time studio director.  You may even find Ms. Marla teaching 2nd or 3rd grade at a local charter school.  Ms. Marla is married to Chris Roberson, who you will catch backstage at the performances and they have two boys, Mason and Owen.  Ms. Marla teaches children at Just for Kicks starting at age 2 all the way to our Senior dancers.
